Constant Maximum Aperture
Shoot through the entire lens focal range at a constant aperture speed of f/4. Shutter speeds will not change as the lens is zoomed.
Image Stabilisation
Canon’s IS system allows you to take shots at shutter speeds up to three times slower, without experiencing motion blur or camera shake artifacts.
Ultrasonic Focusing
A ring-type ultrasonic motor drives the lenses autofocus. Not only is it extremely fast, but the motor holds torque to ensure the point of focus is reached accurately without overshooting. Full-time manual override is also available, without having to leave AF mode.
