WHO DO YOU TRUST? DO YOUR RESEARCH

The Kogan team are technology enthusiasts and specialists first and foremost. We have extremely detailed knowledge and passion for our products, though it appears some other retailers have been a bit lazy with simply copying and pasting specs without ensuring they’re advertising a product correctly.

There is a huge amount of misleading marketing and information out there on the web.

Make sure you buy from a transparent retailer who allows you to see customer reviews. If past customers have been satisfied then chances are you're dealing with a store you can trust.

One of the common misrepresentations we’ve noticed recently is the difference between HD and Full HD. Check out these screenshots of online stores that advertise a product as 'Full HD'. After a closer look, the product in question turns out to have a maximum resolution of 1366x768. This is High Definition, but it's certainly not Full High Definition.

Now, we haven't dobbed these shops into the ACCC. We just want to make sure you're informed when shopping online, and make sure you double check specifications against claims made by other retailers.

Have you noticed anything else online that others should look out for when shopping?
