In case you hadn't spotted it, Australia's leading technology blog Gizmodo are running a great 'Fight the Filter' campaign here in Australia.
It's designed to inform and spread awareness about the lunacy of the Australian government's proposed mandatory Internet filter.
I've spoken about this before on the Kogan blog, and was thrilled to see the great response in the comments. Gizmodo recently asked me to write a guest post for them talking about my experiences behind a restrictive Internet filter when spending time in China, something that I was very excited about sharing with the Australian public.
You can see an outline of Gizmodo's campaign here, including their action day on August 13. You can also sign up to their Facebook page to get regular updates on the fight.
One other way you can make your voice heard (apart from the next election) is through this cross-media poll:
Have your thoughts on the Internet filter changed at all lately? It has been delayed by a year but certainly not cancelled, which is what we're fighting for. Can't wait to hear your thoughts!
Cheers,
Ruslan
